Job Summary:
As a Soil Screening Operator/Foreman at Gipson-Ricketts LLC, you will be responsible for overseeing recovery services for gun clubs and shooting ranges at various locations across the Midwest and Southeast. This position involves frequent travel and requires hands-on leadership to ensure the safe and efficient operation of excavation projects.
- Lead recovery services for gun clubs and shooting ranges, managing excavation operations.
- Operate and maintain a variety of reclamation machinery, including soil and gravel two-deck screens, separating trommels, elevating scrapers, front-end loaders, road graders, skid steer equipment, and digging tools commonly used in heavy highway construction.
- Lead and supervise a team onsite, typically consisting of 1-5 individuals, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and efficient task completion.
- React quickly to any issues or emergencies that arise, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Work independently while maintaining clear communication with project managers and other team members.
- Monitor the progress and punctuality of equipment, ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Keep accurate records of daily reports, including equipment usage, project milestones, expenses, and any incidents or safety concerns.
- Maintaining equipment and light mechanical repairs as well as reporting equipment issues and maintenance records.
- Maintain relations and communicate with customers on scheduling and progress of work.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams onsite, with the ability to provide clear direction and guidance.
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of various machinery used in brush removal, scraping, and piling of lead-bearing soil, as well as feeding the screening plant, such as skid steer loader, hydraulic excavator, wheel loader, and self-loading scraper.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and outdoor environments.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards is preferred.
- Ability to react quickly to changing circumstances and maintain composure under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Experience with GPS systems is a plus.
- Maintaining a commercial driver license (CDL, class A preferred) necessary to drive a commercial vehicle up to 26,000 Lbs. gross weight
- Maintain current health certificate as well as necessary DOT log records. (When possible later on you can work on acquiring the necessary CDL license).
- Maintain and report safety records such as unsafe conditions and conduct periodic safety training/refresher meetings.
- Maintain job organization and keep track of supplies such as fuel, lubricants, misc. supplies, pallets, and bags.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to travel frequently.
