Summary
The Data Technician Lead will be responsible for the physical installation of cabling, overseeing the work of others, surveying work sites to determining best installation practices, coordinator workflow within the unit, and providing on the job training to other technicians as needed.
Essential Functions
Responsible for leading technical teams of varying sizes on small- and large-scale projects
Communication with PM on manpower and material needs
Communication with clients/customers
Serve as a liaison between office and field, communicating all information that is not classified as confidential
Develop project plan including required materials deliver schedules completion schedules manpower requirements and tool/equipment lists
Manage the process of tracking tools and materials to prevent loss
Adhere to safety protocols and complete appropriate documentation
Maintain housekeeping for a safe jobsite
Communication with other trades on jobsite
Ability to monitor project schedule and milestones and provide progress updates as needed
Ability to read and understand all applicable drawings sets including:
Architectural
AV
Electrical (as they relate to telecom)
Reflected Ceiling
Telecommunications
Overall site plans
Minimum Qualifications
Proven ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Proficient in construction related software (Plan Grid, Bluebeam, etc.)
Knowing and willingness to push back on other trades in an effective and professional level.
Ability to resolve conflict both internal and external.
Ability to create a team atmosphere.
Complete understanding of blueprints and related architectural symbols.
High level of understanding of firestopping principles as it pertains to telecom pathways.
Familiarity with MS office suite and other software suites applicable to the role including but not limited to:
MS Excel
MS Outlook
MS Word
Bluebeam
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
All T1/T2/T3 requirements.
OSHA 30, preferred but not required for hire. Minimal OSHA 10.
Aerial lift certification.
Fall protection certification/training.
Physical Demands
Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping, using hands and reaching. Spends approximately 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing. Frequent lifting required of items 25-50 pounds, and occasional lifting over 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Work Environment
Conditions will include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware. Subject to frequent heavy lifting. May require driving to project sites. May be exposed to variable weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
