We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Sales Representative to join our team at Cook & Boardman, Inc. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for managing relationships with assigned customers and developing new customer relationships in the construction industry. Your primary role will involve identifying new project opportunities, reviewing plans and specifications, supervising bids, and following up to close contracts. You will also collaborate closely with our project management team, ensuring customer requirements are met, and serving as the face of ABS on each project.   Essential Functions: Customer Relationship Management: Regularly visit assigned customers to monitor ongoing projects, address concerns, and uncover new opportunities for work. Lead Generation & Territory Expansion: Work with the Sales Manager to develop new customer relationships and expand market presence in designated territories. Bid & Proposal Management: Secure construction plans and specifications for upcoming projects, oversee bids to your customers, and follow up to close the project. Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure smooth project execution. Project Oversight: Participate in project meetings as required by customers, and monitor jobsite progress, resolving any issues that arise. Billing & Costing: Regularly review billing and costing information and address any discrepancies or concerns. Problem-Solving: Address customer-related issues and internal challenges, providing timely and effective solutions. Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Support the development of detailers, estimators, or project managers, and assist in resolving project-related challenges. Sales Meetings & Market Assessment: Participate in regular sales meetings to assess market opportunities and help set strategies for growth.   Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education/experience. Current and valid US driver’s license with the ability to drive for the company (must be 21 years old). Minimum 5 years of experience in a construction-related environment.   Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Good math aptitude for interpreting project plans and costing. Familiarity with industry-specific software such as Comsense is preferred. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Knowledge of commercial door and hardware products and understanding of building code requirements. Ability to travel locally as needed.   Physical Demands: Regularly required to talk, hear, and see. Frequent standing, walking, and using hands for tasks such as handling documents, operating equipment, and reaching. Occasional driving to project sites as required.   Work Environment: This position primarily operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely involves using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Occasional travel to project sites may be necessary.   Qualification Requirements: To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform all essential duties satisfactorily.
