COHO Consulting Group is seeking an Aircraft Electrician to join our team in support of a contract at Robins AFB in Warner Robins, GA. The position involves installing, troubleshooting, adjusting, testing, modifying, calibrating, and repairing aircraft electrical systems and equipment on board conventional and non-conventional aircraft. Included are electrical power control and distribution systems, lighting systems, refueling and fuel quantity indicating systems, electrical warning, controlling, and actuating circuits, and tying-in power and control circuits for functional systems, such as hydraulics, armament, radar, engines, and fire suppression.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to) :

  • Troubleshoot, modify, calibrate and repair complex aircraft electrical systems and equipment such as electrical power control and distribution systems, lighting systems, refueling and fuel quantity indicating systems, etc.
  • Perform final functional and operational testing of systems
  • Replace defective controls units, relay boards, servo units, or other components
  • Set up and operate computerized multiple circuit analyzing equipment to test and analyze circuitry and interconnected cabling of systems
  • Interpret and apply a variety of technical information such as technical orders, repair manuals, schematics, etc concerning wire codes, wiring configuration and testing procedures.
  • Set-up and operate computer controlled automated test equipment (ATE)
  • Operating electrical principles such as microminiaturized digital and solid-state integrated circuits, transistors, diodes, tube circuits, antennas, signal transmission, oscillation, and amplification sufficient to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions where circuit theory must be applied.
  • Setting up and operating computerized multiple circuit analyzing equipment to test and analyze aircraft electrical circuitry and interconnecting cabling of systems such as navigational computers, radar, and related equipment used to repair discrepancies.

High School diploma or equivalent

  • Required Knowledge / Experience :
  • Must have at least two years of recent verifiable experience

  • Knowledge of electrical theory, principles and circuitry and a thorough knowledge of aircraft electrical systems sufficient to troubleshoot, modify, repair, and test complex electrical systems on board aircraft such as antiskid, automatic flight control, and fuel indicating systems.
  • Knowledge of the interface of electrical systems with hydraulic, electronic armament, instrument, and mechanical systems and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of operating electrical principles
  • Knowledge of interface of electrical systems with hydraulic, electronic armament, instrument, and mechanical systems
  • Experience using hand and electrical test units, meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Experience in reading schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Physical Requirements :
  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and / or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.

  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow / knee and reach above / below shoulders.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to read dials / gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
