The Copper River Family of Companies is seeking an exceptional Vice President, Growth and Strategy for its newest entity, Copper River Strategies, LLC. This new company is tasked with driving organizational growth across the Copper River Family of Companies by centralizing key functions such as business development, sales, capture management, marketing, proposal management and strategic partnerships. The overarching goal for Copper River Strategies is to achieve ambitious revenue targets and ensure cohesive growth. The Vice President, Growth and Strategy will be responsible for leading the Business Development (BD) function to drive new opportunities, developing and mentoring a team of highly skilled and experienced business development professionals, co-creating innovative business development processes to identify, pursue, and secure new contracts, and ensuring the continued growth of the company's diversified portfolio. This role is located in Chantilly, VA, and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). It is crucial position for the success and expansion of the Copper River Family of Companies, as it will enable the organization to continue to grow its portfolio of businesses.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Strategic Planning and Execution
- Develop and lead the organization's growth strategy to achieve short- and long-term revenue goals in alignment with its overall vision and mission by identifying, pursuing, and securing key new contracts for growth.
- Build relationships with agency leads and gather reliable data through research to identify current market trends, emerging opportunities, and identify any competitive threats to make informed strategic decisions.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with executive leadership across multiple operating companies and shared services to execute strategic initiatives effectively
- Build and lead high-performing teams to support growth and strategy initiatives to secure new contracts across a highly diversified and growing portfolio of companies.
Business Development
- Oversee the full lifecycle of business development, including opportunity identification, capture planning, and proposal development.
- Lead efforts to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, key partners, and industry leaders.
- Develop strategies for expanding into new markets and industries, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and execute on these strategies rapidly and effectively.
Revenue Growth
- Drive growth initiatives to increase revenue streams through new product offerings, enhanced service delivery, and market expansion into key new markets.
- Partner with the finance team to create accurate forecasts and budgets for growth initiatives.
- Work with sales and marketing teams to set and achieve ambitious growth targets.
- Ensure a strong return on investment (ROI) for all strategic projects and partnerships.
- Monitor key performance metrics to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or a related field required.
- MBA or advanced degree highly preferred.
Requirements:
- At least twenty years' experience in business development, strategy, or growth-related roles in Government Contracting and Commercial industries.
- ANC/Tribal experience and/or 8(a) experience preferred.
- Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth, leading strategic initiatives, and successfully entering new markets.
- Leadership experience managing teams and motivating individuals to achieve ambitious goals.
- Proficient in CRM tools and program/project management.
- Ability to obtain and maintain at minimum Top Secret Security Clearance (if applicable).
