What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Accounting position at The CORE Institute?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversee and manage all treasury operations encompassing banking, cash, debt, leases, and capital/fixed assets.
- Monitor and forecast cash balances.
- Oversee all indebtedness including covenant compliance.
- Ensure timely and accurate funding and accounting for M&A transactions.
- Supervise the setup of new entities and bank accounts.
- Develop and/or refine cashflow forecasting models for existing and new businesses – weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual forecasts.
- Support ad hoc reporting and special projects.
- Drive operational efficiency and effectiveness through process improvements and use of technology.
- Participate in development of strong internal control structure and associated compliance with all policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Develop key KPI’s and drive continuous improvement of metrics.
- Manage and account for capital investment process in collaboration a with Finance and Operations to achieve optimal sources of financing.
- Collaborate with business partners at all levels of the organization as well as external parties to achieve organizational goals.
- Guide teams in proactively identifying and resolving issues and other implementation of best practices.
- Participate in M&A due diligence relative to treasury functions and requirements.
- Supervise integration of Treasury function for acquisitions denovo development and new lines of business.
- Lead routine reporting relative to cash flow management and Treasury functionality.
- Leading and/or assisting with the creation of all necessary policies and procedures.
- Other Duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS and Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting is required. MS in Accounting is preferred.
- Minimum six years of Accounting and/or Finance experience.
- Licensed CPA or qualified candidate.
- Proficient with general ledger, procurement and treasury systems as well as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Knowledge of banking and other applicable regulations.
- Experience with privately held (PE backed) mid-size companies preferred.
- Experience with banking relationships and administration.
- Health care and multi-entity, joint venture business organizations preferred.
KNOWLEDGE
- Treasury, finance and accounting functional knowledge including budgeting, credit, investments, internal controls, debt, leases, and fixed assets.
- Computer systems, spreadsheet, bank applications, and financial systems programs and applications.
- Lead staff (direct and/or indirect) and change management projects for systems, processes, and teams.
