What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interventional Radiology Technologist position at The CORE Institute?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Operates conventional, fluoroscopic or radiology equipment to obtain images of designated body parts according to physician specifications and/or orders
- Assists with acquiring and opening product during procedure based on physician needs and orders; maintain supplies
- Demonstrate critical thinking ability to plan and implement patient care
- Ability to multi-task, complete all tasks in a timely manner
- Educate patients regarding the procedures
- Create and maintain patient electronic medical record (EMR)
- Ensure images are in the PACS system
- Maintain quantity and quality control checks to assure imaging unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.
- Clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining repairs needed to equipment.
- Protect patient and other personnel from radiation hazards
EDUCATION
- High school diploma/GED
EXPERIENCE
- 1 or more years of interventional radiology or related experience
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system knowledge helpful
REQUIREMENTS
- ARRT Certification in Radiography
- Arizona State license
- BLS Certification (AHA)
KNOWLEDGE
- Medical terminology
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of diagnostic radiographic procedures.
- Knowledge of basic chemistry, film apparatus, and film processing techniques.
- Knowledge of how diseases and injuries are diagnosed and imaged radiographically.
- Knowledge of human anatomy.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.
