Wine Sales Associate
POSITION: Wine bar Bartender and sales person.
This is a great opportunity for qualified candidates to help us build our business. Employee will also be required to bartend and sell wine retail.
Flexibility in scheduling is required.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Be friendly, courteous, and capable of interacting with a wide variety of personalities in a professional and polite manner.
- Be accommodating, upbeat, and inspired to make every guest’s experience special.
- Must be a self-starter that works efficiently with limited direction to identify needs of the business and work with management to implement solutions effectively.
- Greet all arriving guests and provide a brief summary of the store and provide direction appropriately.
- Continually develop a deep understanding of wine to assist guests with making selections and purchases.
- Drive revenue by selling wine and merchandise to guests.
- Utilize proper safety and sanitation techniques at all times (lifting, glass handling, food safety/storage, cleaning-sanitizing protocols, etc.)
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with state and company guidelines.
- Operate POS/registers, process sales and perform other transactions with accuracy.
- General housekeeping duties to ensure the appearance and cleanliness of the tasting room exceed standards.
- Various opening, closing, and mid-shift duties.
- Perform any other duties requested by the management team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong knowledge and background in wines.
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a wine shop or Sommelier role with emphasis on customer service and sales. (or equivalent experience)
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position including standing for 8-10 hours per day, frequent bending down, and climbing/descending ladders.
- Must have ability to work independently, develop and build customer relationships in order to maximize repeat visits.
- Ability to engage and communicate with customers in a prompt and professional manner.
- Must be dependable, have excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must be committed to working together as a team to grow sales and customer base.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
