Senior HR Generalist

Position Summary :
Provides critical support to all HR department functions and is the primary point of contact for all employee communication. Serves as administrator for several essential human resources functions and workforce management, including recruitment, employee / labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, employment engagement, leave and attendance tracking, payroll, and employee records. Works with management to develop and implement positive culture-building programs, employee appreciation / recognition, member safety, workers’ compensation / return to work actions, and proactive member communications. Responsible for day-to-day operations and the implementation of management decisions. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
Specific Duties Responsibilities :
- Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to :
- Primary point of contact for the HR department for ASCA.
- Ensures that human resource policies and practices meet federal, state, and local laws.
- Facilitates and communicates organizational policies and programs, ensuring labor law and regulatory compliance.
- Consults and directs management and supervision on company / HR policy application, production operation, and complex or sensitive employment-related inquiries or issues (such as ADA, FMLA, FLSA, harassment, discrimination, diversity, corrective action, and progressive discipline).
- Ensures compliance with EEO, ADA, and AAP guidelines.
- Completes all government reports such as EEO-1, Vet’s 100, Cal / OSHA 300, etc.
- Leads annual AAP program compilation.
- Manages day-to-day maintenance of employee information in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and provides reports as needed to the Director of HR and management.
- Provides guidance to managers / supervisors on employee relations, including investigations, counseling, assisting in resolving disputes, and performance issues.
- Point of contact for more complex timekeeping, time-off, payroll, benefits, and related inquiries.
- Conducts HR review of payroll prior to processing and troubleshoots issues with the Payroll Administrator.
- Coordinates with HR support staff to process and maintain employment, attendance, and other records.
- Supports recruiting efforts, plans and executes activities and events to fill all open positions. Conduct pre-employment screenings and facilitates onboarding when needed.
- Assists with preparing reports and identifying trends in employee-related issues, turnover, and performance trends.
- Assists with the organization’s performance management process by coaching, educating, and providing feedback to managers / supervisors.
- Provides HR support to operations safety programs, initiatives, and processes, including returning to work and coordinating workers’ compensation claims. Works with the Director of HR and EHS Manager regarding employee injury matters.
- Oversees benefits administration, including Open Enrollment and monthly reports. Answers employee benefit questions and works with the appropriate providers and third parties as needed.
- Helps create and implement training and development programs for team leader and member development to meet SOP requirements, skill proficiency, development needs, and employment-related compliance obligations (e.g., anti-harassment).
- Assists with updating policies and designing supporting forms, workflow documentation, and knowledge base resources.
- Supports compliance audit needs.
- Partners with HR Generalist to plan and coordinate special functions.
- May evaluate, select, and oversee vendors that provide supplemental HR processes and services.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
- Follows company rules and procedures.
