Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for an Urban Planner. The Urban Planner will be responsible for regional planning, urban planning, environmental planning, land use planning, and general planning tasks. The role is based in Miami, FL, with flexibility for remote work.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Geography or closely related field. Masters Degree preferred.
- 7-10 years experiance, including a minimum 3 years in municipal government.
- in depth knowledge of
Regional Planning, Urban Planning, Transporation Planning, and Land Use Planning skills.
- Experience in general planning tasks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
to gather relevant information to solve less well- defined practical problems.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience with data analysis, mapping (ie GIS) tools, and database management.
- Familiarity with drafting and interpreting zoning regulations and land use policies.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to conduct plan review and apply code and comprehensive plan requirements as well as assess field conditions for compliance of the same.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- Comfortable
presenting research findings, staff reports, and project updates before various public boards, committees, and elected bodies, as well as facilitating community workshops.
Ability to work on various projects.
- Knowledge
of principles, methodology, practices of research and data collection.
- AICP certification, desired.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
