What are the responsibilities and job description for the Homeschool Teacher (HST) 24-25 SY Pool position at The Cottonwood School?
Under the direction of the Director of Instruction and with the support of an Instructional Administrator, the Homeschool Teacher is responsible for the education of assigned TK-12th grade students and will create an individualized and flexible program favorable for learning and personal growth. In addition, the Homeschool Teacher will support instruction based on the California Common Core State Standards and will address student needs for academic intervention and enrichment. The Homeschool Teacher will also work with the student’s parents to provide guidance, resources, and strategies to ensure optimal learning and positive social/emotional development. This position is eligible to serve additional students for the Additional Student Stipend up to the maximum student caseload below. Additional students over the maximum student caseload must be approved by the Executive Director. Qualifications:
Knowledge of various learning modalities and educational philosophies.
Knowledge of effective strategies, curriculum, and instruction to support all students.
Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum and educational programs.
Professional oral and written communication skills in English, including academic report writing.
Proficiency in operating standard office equipment including a variety of software applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Google (docs, sheets, forms, drives), and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Google Chat, etc.).
Ability to organize, prioritize, work under time constraints, and be flexible in an environment of multiple tasks.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
Must have a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and dependability.
Must be able to maintain accurate records.
Must live in the Northern California, Sacramento area and be able to commute to El Dorado Hills.
Education and Licenses:
Possess a valid California multiple subject teaching credential and meet any other credential requirements.
Possess English Learner Authorization
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
*To serve TK students, educators must meet 1 of the 3 following CDE criteria:
24 units in early childhood education, or childhood development, or both
Professional experience in a classroom setting with preschool-age children that is comparable to 24 units of early childhood education, or childhood development, or both.
Has earned a valid child development teacher permit or an early childhood education specialist credential.
Salary : $64,000 - $81,945
