GROUP HOME RESIDENTIAL ASSISTANT
The Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes Counties is searching for caring, dedicated individuals looking to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with mental illness in our communities in our supported Group Homes. Join our team and see the difference!
We have a FULL TIME 2nd shift, 4p-12a, opportunity and a PART TIME 1st shift, 8a-4p, opportunity availablewith a rotating weekend schedule! On-the-job training is provided for working with individuals living with mental illnesses.
What this position does:l
- Establishes a supportive relationship with each home resident.
- Encourages a routine for personal care and cleaning of their living areas.
- Assists with daily living skills such as: meal planning, shopping, food preparation, nutrition, cleaning, and laundry.
- Encourages residents to care for themselves by prompting good habits regarding grooming, bathing, and personal hygiene.
- Arranges social activities for the residents, both within and outside of the home and encourages involvement.
- Monitors medication and symptoms of each resident and reports concerns to the Director of Residential Services or the resident’s social worker.
What this position does NOT do:
· There is NO LIFTING involved!
· There is NO DIRECT PERSONAL CARE such as bathing or grooming residents.

Applicant must be 21 or older, have an unrestricted driver's license, and have a GED or high school diploma to be considered for this position.
The Counseling Center is headquartered in Wooster, a college town located in scenic rural Northeastern Ohio near Akron, Canton, Cleveland, and Mansfield.
