The Health Information Support Specialist I provides a variety of administrative support to the Health Information Department.
Essential Functions
Essential functions are duties which are primary to the position. An individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. The essential functions of this position are:
- Provides Urine Drug Testing as requested by the HI Coordinator & Clinical Team
- Bills out Urine Drug Tests within the EHR as requested by the HI Coordinator
- Scans and files all clinically relevant documentation into the EHR
- Picks up positive urine samples from all sites and processes for lab pick up
- Maintains & orders all Drug Screening Supplies for all correlating TCC sites
- Collects agency mail and dispenses as applicable
- Greets clients and visitors from assigned sites
- Schedule appointments within the EHR as applicable
Secondary functions are duties, which are not exclusive of the position and can be performed by other positions; however, secondary duties are to be performed for the efficiency of The Counseling Center, Inc.
- Provides backup support for the Health Information Department as requested
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge/skill regarding office practices and procedures
- Skill in operating office machinery with speed and accuracy
- Ability in the area of effective communication and interpersonal skills with public and co-workers
- Demonstrates appropriate understanding of working with confidential material and situations
- Ability to understand and assimilate new information quickly
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in an office setting of a least one (1) year preferred and/or formal secretarial training including computer experience
- Knowledge about the disease of alcohol addiction preferred
- Offers of employment are contingent on the successful completion of drug testing and background check.
