JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the Medical Director oversees and provides services including medical services and consultation regarding treatment services and any medically related policy/procedure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Administrative Responsibilities include:
- Clinical Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Management- In collaboration with the administrator of medical services, will develop SOPs for the following clinical domains:
- Medically assisted treatment (MAT)
- Withdrawal management (WM)
- Primary care (PC)
- Women’s health (WH)
- Employee Health
- Quality Assurance- In collaboration with the administrator of medical services, will:
- monitor and review clinical practice of individual providers and the TCC health care system;
- develop and communicate medical policy to TCC employees and the community; and,
- develop input mechanisms for providers on clinical issues.
- Performance Tracking- In collaboration with the administrator of medical services, will assist in the development of data capture mechanisms for individual providers and the TCC health system.
- Ongoing Needs Analysis- In collaboration with the administrator of medical services, will review and analyze current medical standards of care, and advise TCC on issues requiring medical expertise.
- Resource Development- In collaboration with the administrator of medical services, will assist in:
- the analysis of need for providers;
- the analysis of need for program development;
- recruitment of providers;
- credentialing of providers;
- training of providers (new and continuous education); and,
- recommending the removal of deficient providers
- Program management- In collaboration with the administrator of medical services, will assist in:
- inquiry and complaint response for medical matters; and,
- development of Electronic Medical Record (EHR) and Information Technology solutions to improve patient care and documentation.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
Secondary functions are duties, which are not exclusive of the position, can be performed by other positions; however, secondary duties are to be performed for the efficiency of The Counseling Center.
- As requested and relative to the function of services at The Counseling Center.
Clinical Responsibilities include:
- Providing clinical care services for TCC patients within the Medical Director’s scope of care and licensure on such dates as mutually agreed upon between the Parties.
- Providing collaboration with TCC nurse practitioners in accordance with the Standard Care Agreement and all applicable Ohio statutes and regulations.
COMPETENCIES
Experience in the treatment of substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and primary care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, INCLUDING TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Unrestricted Ohio medical license with no suspension, public reprimand, or probation from professional practice within the past five years.
- Board certification in specialty
- 3 years’ experience in specialty
- 24 hours addiction medicine training in past 5 years
- Experience in addiction medicine preferred
- Unrestricted DEA certificate
- Shall not be bound by any agreement or arrangement which would prevent the Medical Director from entering into, or from fully performing the services required by the scope of work of this agreement.
