Hey there! I'm Jamie, a passionate bassist, guitarist, and songwriter, proudly born and raised in the vibrant musical landscape of Boston, Massachusetts. With a decade of musical experience under my belt, I've had the privilege of weaving my musical threads across a diverse range of genres – from bluegrass ensembles to jazz combos, and even rocking out with various bands. Sharing the stage with talented artists has been a true highlight of my musical journey.
In addition to playing with accomplished musicians, I carve out my own sonic path by writing and performing original compositions. My music spans from heartfelt folk tunes to contemporary classical pieces, finding its way onto stages across Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. The thrill of performing even extended to live TV broadcasts through the Brookline Interactive Group.
However, amidst all these musical adventures, my main passion lies in education. Since 2019, I've been sharing my knowledge through private lessons and classroom settings. From teaching bass and guitar at the Hyde Square Task Force to coaching bands with the Girls Rock Campaign, and serving as a teaching assistant at Meridian Academy for music theory, voice, and band classes, education is at the core of what I do.
I am currently enrolled at the New England Conservatory of Music, where I delve into Contemporary Musical Arts, and I understand the value of a personalized musical education. Having been fortunate enough to learn from exceptional teachers, I appreciate the importance of centering education around the student's interests.
Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time or have been strumming for years, my goal is to help you become the musician you aspire to be. Lessons with me are focused on effectively expressing your musical ideas, tailored specifically to you. This could range from honing instrumental techniques to diving into music theory and ear training or workshopping your original compositions. Whatever your musical aspirations, my mission is to guide you to be the best musician you can be.
