Description
COMPENSATION : Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement located on the DY website. All internal applicants who are interested in this position should apply within ten days of this posting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned :
- Promote learning and growth of all students and create a safe and effective classroom environment with cultural proficiency.
- Perform relevant professional tasks or duties as may be assigned by the building Principal and / or his designee.
- Maintain student behavioral standards to ensure a productive and disciplined environment during group rehearsals, practices, and performances.
- Collaborate with school administration to organize musical programs for civic functions and school productions.
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for students.
- Maintain student grading and attendance records.
- Teach skills in music understanding / appreciation, harmony, explorations in music, and choral music in relation to the level being taught.
- Teach general styles of music, classical piano, practical and theory.
- Teach singing to students from beginner to advanced level.
- Prepare students for school concerts and planned music experiences.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of music theory, music education, and general music.
