JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: POOL MANAGER
Since 1899, The Country Club has served as a second home to generations of families. Today, 650 members and their families find the Club to be a place of social activity and a place to refresh and regenerate. Whether they are here to dine, play golf, swim, exercise or just spend time with family and friends, members enjoy first-class facilities and the very finest professional service staff.
The Country Club's Aquatic Facility consists of an outdoor pool, locker rooms and snack bar. The Club is accepting applications for the position of Pool Manager for the 2023 summer season. The pool opens on
Memorial Day weekend (Saturday, May 27, 2023) and closes on Labor Day (Monday, September 4, 2023).This is a private pool that is internally maintained, owned by its members, governed by management. Approximately 650 families are members of The Country Club.
The qualified applicant will perform a variety of duties in planning, scheduling, maintaining the seasonal operation of the pool and communicating with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager of the Club. The Pool Manager has overall responsibility for safety at the pool, as well as managerial, administrative, facility, equipment, communications and leadership duties, including but not limited to the following:
Position: Pool Manager
Reporting Relationship: General Manager / Assistant General Manager
Direct Reports: Lifeguards
Works with: Swim Coach, Snack Bar Manager
Position Duties:
- Ensure compliance with ALL Federal, State and Local laws governing public swimming and bathing places.
- Recruit, hire, train, manage, discipline and oversee lifeguard staff.
- Schedule, plan and organize workloads and staff assignments for lifeguards.
- Meet regularly with lifeguards, advise and council lifeguards, including mid summer performance evaluations.
- Monitor time sheets and coordinate lesson schedules, prepare payroll reports.
- Write end-of-season report for the General Manager
- Ordering and receipt of various chemical and supply needs
- Coordinate care and maintenance of the pool facility and related grounds with other departmental leaders, most specifically, the Facilities Director, General Manager, and Assistant General Manager.
- Attend weekly Managerial Meetings leading up to, and during the pool season
Membership:
- The Pool Manager must be a visible presence to both the Lifeguard Staff and Club's Membership on a regular basis.
- Prepare facility for and supervise swim meets, help organize major pool events throughout the season
- Meets and personally welcomes Members and Guests. Enhances the Member and Guest experience by focusing on personalized service through use of Member's proper name, professional language skills and through polite and graceful interaction.
- Enforces Club policy regarding safety and cleanliness, while understanding that the communication of such enforcement needs to be administered in a manner that is respectful and polite.
Property and Equipment:
- Promotes the highest standard of maintenance, housekeeping, appearance and hospitality in all areas of the Club.
- Quickly gain a thorough understanding of the operations and maintenance of pool equipment.
- -Perform general maintenance in filter room, pool, building and grounds
Position Qualifications (Mandatory):
-Minimum High School Diploma
-Valid Driver's License
-Prior Lifeguard Experience
-Current Certification for Lifeguard / CPR / AED
-Valid Certified Pool Operator License (CPO) and Pesticide Applicator License
-Knowledge of proper operations and maintenance of pool equipment (pumps, motors, heaters, filtration and chemical applications)
-Prior Experience in Operations of Pool Filtration Systems and Monitoring Water Conditions
-Prior Experience in Managing a Lifeguard Staff
-Prior experience in Managing within a Membership setting, Country Club or otherwise.
