Job Description
Position Title: Pool Café Attendant / Snack Bar Attendant
Position Reports to: Poolside Café supervisor(s), Assistant Managers
Employee Categories: Part Time or Full Time Seasonal
FLSA Category: Non- Exempt; Hourly
This is a part time / full time seasonal position at The Pool Café and Snack Bar on the Golf Course. This is a service position working directly next to Pool Café culinarians and as liaison between membership and food preparation. This service position includes but is not limited to taking orders and entering orders into the point-of-sale system, pouring nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages, scooping and serving ice cream and dessert products. Tracking inventory as well as restocking all non-perishable items at the end of each shift and ensuring it is stocked to par while maintaining sanitation and cleanliness of the Snack Bar, Pool Café, and member eating areas. Ensuring all front of house and back of house spaces are cleaned, organized, and stocked for the next meal period. Primary Responsibilities includes but not limited to:
- Be professional with both members and co-workers with proper and courteous verbiage
- Arrive to work on time and in proper uniform, as described in the employee handbook
- Ensure all opening procedures are completed
- Follow and restock Pool Café and Snack Bar with all necessary supplies, including but not limited to; paper and plastic products, beverages, condiments, and additional supplies needed for service
- Become knowledgeable of Pool Café and Snack Bar menu and all food service offerings, allergies, and cooking procedures to give the most informed service to membership
- Become knowledgeable of all beverage offerings
- Become TIPs certified (provided through The Country Club)
- Clean dining tables, restock water station, clear trash reciprocals throughout the shift as needed
- Assist with washing all dishes needed during service
- Restocking food and beverage items as needed
- Ensure all closing procedures are completed
- Assist in any additional food and beverage operations, events, and golf outings taking place at the Pool Café and Snack Bar on an as needed basis
Required Skills:
- Previous experience in customer service preferred
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
- Food and beverage knowledge preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Exposure to a private club environment preferred
- 18 years or older
Specialized Knowledge/Licenses Required:
- Massachusetts TIPS Certification (provided through TCC)
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able bend and reach for items off shelves, carry trays, lift up to 30 lbs
- Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours
- Use touch screen for POS system
- Basic reading and writing skills and ability to speak English conversationally
