What are the responsibilities and job description for the SECURITY OFFICER ~ FULL TIME position at The County of Adams?
County of Adams is seeking a full time Security Officer. This position is responsible for the safeguarding and security of the Adams County Courthouse and affiliate County offices, its assets, employees, and members of the public. This is accomplished through the use of access control equipment such as: metal detectors, X-ray machines, and by monitoring the alarm systems and closed circuit cameras. This is considered a safety sensitive position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of five (5) years' experience as a certified military or civilian police officer OR licensed Security Officer (Act 120, Act 2, Act 235, Florida Class D & G or similar.
- The ability to successfully complete pre-employment physical and drug screening test, criminal background check, and minimum qualification with issued semi-automatic handgun is required.
License(s) and Certification(s):
- Valid Driver's License
- Lethal weapons training - prior law enforcement, military or equivalent
- Valid Pennsylvania or Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (LEOSA) license to carry firearms permit (may be acquired within the first month of employment)
- CPR training and First Aid (can be obtained after date of hire)
- Required by CJIS to pass all initial and future security clearances.
