What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Maintenance Technician position at The County of Botetourt?
Job Summary: The Grounds Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance and construction of parks and recreation buildings, athletic fields and facilities, and equipment. Employee may be subject to varying hours of work, including nights and weekend, Employee may work with jail trustees and community service workers in carrying out the duties of this position.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Do the right thing.
- Promote the vision, mission and values of the Board of Supervisors and County Government Organization.
- Responsible for performing routine maintenance on athletic fields, park facilities, and other County property for sports and general citizen use. This work includes mowing, trimming, laying out and marking fields for various sports, trash pickup, general cleaning of grounds, restrooms, concession stands and snow removal.
- Responsible for care and maintenance of trails, boat launches, parking lots and other County outdoor facilities
- Responsible for the care and routine maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Responsible for the operation of equipment, including but not limited to tractors, skid steer, utility vehicles, and bunker rakes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
