What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Tech 2 position at The County of Botetourt?
Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician II provides maintenance, installation, repair, troubleshooting and improvements to the Botetourt County Public Safety Building/Botetourt-Craig Counties Regional Jail, and other County buildings and facilities, as necessary according to established safety protocols and processes. This position is subject to occasional call-in/call-back duty.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

- Responsible for performing skilled electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and painting work.
- Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs equipment including but not limited to: heating and air conditioning units, generators, electrical door locks, switches, magnetic starters, relays and electrical motors.
- Responsible for providing emergency repairs and maintenance to, buildings, including troubleshooting and repairing leaks, pipe, and drain clogs
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and machines.
- Diagnoses issues, orders and installs parts, and performs tests to ensure all equipment is in proper working order.
- Responsible for reading equipment manuals, charts, blueprints and maps to ensure safe and proper utilization of all systems.
- Maintains and uses variety of equipment, including hand and power tools, meters and machines.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Monitors and maintains building automation systems.
- Sizes pumps, valves and motors.
- Receives, prioritizes and completes work orders through the County’s computerized maintenance management system.
- Responsible for removing snow, as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
