The Cove Surf Coach
As a surf coach at The Cove, you become a member of The Good Vibe Tribe, which is an inclusive group of Unicorns that are courageously authentic & contagiously passionate about spreading our love for life & embracing all of its challenges! Surf coaches are an essential part of The Cove staff. As a coach, you will help ensure that every rider has a memorable experience, leaving with good vibes and ready for their next ride on the ProFlow Surf Machine! The safety of each rider will be a top priority to you and is something you are never willing to compromise.
*This is a seasonal job that requires a flexible and open schedule between the months of April-October.
A day in the life:
- Inspect pool, surf machine, and facility grounds for health and safety of guests
- Instruct surfing and boogie boarding on the surf machine
- Coach private events and sessions outside of operations as a coach
- Respond to medical emergencies
- Teach and assist children at summer camps
- Clean and maintain all bodies of water at The Cove
- Lifeguard any private events with kids
- Assist with aquatic maintenance projects
- Attend in-services (continual lifeguard training)

Qualifications
You Must Have:
- Red Cross Shallow Water Lifeguarding (or must obtain after hire)
- Wave instructor training (will obtain after hire)
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Be able to bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
- Be able to carry/lift at least 50lbs
- Be able to work in the sun and heat for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
- Be able to learn and execute emergency procedures for facility and attractions
