Position Overview:
As a CIY (Craft It Yourself) Arts & Crafts Sales Associate, you’ll be the heart of our store, helping customers find the perfect canvases and supplies for their creative projects. You’ll provide expert advice on products, demonstrate crafting techniques, and ensure our store is a welcoming, inspiring environment for crafters of all kinds. If you have a knack for sales and a love for arts & crafts, you’ll thrive in this role!

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service Excellence:

Assist customers in finding the right products for their CIY projects. Provide personalized recommendations based on their needs, and ensure they leave with everything they need to make their creative ideas come to life.

• Product Knowledge & Demonstrations:

Stay up-to-date with our product offerings and crafting trends. Be ready to give product demonstrations, share crafting tips, and help customers explore new techniques and materials.

• Sales Support:

Help achieve store sales goals by actively promoting products, offering special deals, and engaging customers in conversation about new arrivals or seasonal promotions.

• Visual Merchandising:

Help create eye-catching displays that inspire customers to try new projects. You’ll have the opportunity to showcase your creative side by arranging products in a way that makes crafting irresistible.

• Store Maintenance & Stocking:

Ensure the store is well-organized, fully stocked, and visually appealing. You’ll also assist with inventory management and stock replenishment, keeping the shelves stocked with crafting essentials.

• Crafting Community Building:

Encourage a love for arts and crafts by promoting any upcoming store events, classes, and/or workshops. Create a friendly, approachable atmosphere where customers feel comfortable exploring their creativity.

• Craft Enthusiast: You’re passionate about arts and crafts and love talking about all things CIY! Whether you’re into painting, knitting, scrapbooking, or any other craft, your creativity will shine in this role.
• Excellent Communicator: You have a knack for connecting with people and making them feel welcome. You can easily explain crafting techniques, answer product questions, and provide expert advice.
• Sales Savvy: You’re comfortable meeting sales goals and enjoy engaging customers with enthusiasm, helping them discover new products, and building strong relationships.
• Organized & Detail-Oriented: You take pride in keeping the store clean, organized, and well-stocked. You’re also great at multitasking and staying on top of things in a busy retail environment.
• Positive & Team Player: You’re upbeat, friendly, and enjoy working with others. You thrive in a team environment where collaboration and positivity are key!
• Flexible & Adaptable: Retail can be fast-paced, so you’re comfortable with change and quick on your feet, whether it’s assisting a customer, restocking supplies, or helping out with store events.

Expected hours: No more than 28 per week
