The Crafty Kit, a small but fast growing company specializing in DIY craft kits based out of Northern NJ is currently looking for like-minded entrepreneurs and artists to provide a one of a kind crafting experience. We are a statement crafting kit brand with a mission to inspire the world to Craft Unapologetically! We believe that everyone deserves to find themselves represented in crafting no matter who they are. Our experiences include painting (Canvas, glassware, ceramic), Terrarium, Candle, Wreath, Chunky Blanket, Mosaic Making and more!
We are looking to hire detail-oriented, trustworthy, reliable and responsible host & co-host to join our growing team! This role goes beyond teaching – it requires the perfect combination of performance, authenticity and creativity. During our experiences, Co-Hosts work alongside our main host to deliver a memorable customer experience. As a Co-Host you are an extension of our brand; it is your responsibility to engage our guests and create a party where people come together to escape everyday life and bring out their inner child!
YOU WILL:
- Run the logistics of the event so event hosts can focus on hosting/teaching. Use provided supplies to set up the room and guest stations prior to the event, check guests in as they arrive, and clean up the room so it is left as pristine as when you arrived.
- Clearly and concisely articulate instructions to guests so they can leave with a finished product that they’re proud of in ~2 hours.
- Manage the flow of the experience while providing individual support to guests as needed
- Provide excellent customer service, doing everything possible to make guests’ night even more fun.
- Work events for high priority groups such as corporate clients and private fundraisers, presenting a delightful and professional presence as our on-site company representative. These events may require a larger time commitment or additional effort to make sure clients have a superb experience with The Crafty Kit.
- Do basic inventory of supplies and communicate back to management if anything needs attention.
- Take photos of guests throughout the event to help make it even more memorable and worth sharing with friends and promote on social media.
- Have the opportunity to work different experiences, including but not limited to painting (canvas, glassware, ceramic), Terrarium, Wreath, Candle, Chunky Blanket, and Mosaic Making.
YOU HAVE:
- A fun, outgoing personality and a “show must go on” attitude! Your presence should positively add to the overall customer experience, so as a “social butterfly” you need to be comfortable interacting with groups of up to 50 guests.
- Willingness to lift and move items. This may require moving tables and chairs into position as well as lifting bins filled with supplies.
- Comfort with technology (Must be able to use Zoom, Google Meets, Webex, and Go-To with confidence).
- Minimum age of 21.
- Ability to work the expected duration of the assigned event
- Be scheduled for a minimum of 4-hours per event, and longer depending upon the type of event.
Note: Length of time at events may vary.
You must available between the hours of 2-6pm est
For in person workshops at our Westwood location availability to work on weekends of evenings
Hiring both Northern NJ based and virtual instructors. Must be able to provide high speed Internet.
Listed below are the approximate length of shifts per event :
Painting (Canvas, Glassware, Ceramic) → Approx. 2 Hours
Terrarium, Wreath, Mosaic, Candle Making → Approx. 1.5 Hours
Chunky Blanket → Approx. 2.5 Hours
Physical Demands:
Setting up and cleaning up events involves some physical tasks, so you must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds. You may need to push or pull supplies, tables, and chairs. You will also be required to stand for at least 4 hours.
