Position Summary
The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay brings help, hope and healing to people facing serious life challenges or trauma resulting from sexual assault or abuse, domestic violence, financial distress, substance abuse, medical emergency, suicidal thoughts, emotional or situational problems. The Community Resource Specialist Database Curator is responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects of the Information and Referral (I&R) database. This position reports to the DART Supervisor and in his or her absence the Director of Operational Performance.
Strategic/Transformational Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects of the Information & Referral (I&R) database, its end user products and services, service area caller/client contact record database.
Transactional/Administrative Duties and Responsibilities
- Research community resources and facilitate networking and partnerships with community-based agencies through outreach and advocacy to maximize use of existing services
- Trains and assists all staff in the correct caller data collection and data entry process for the calls/chats entered into the database
- Responsible for the maintenance, upgrade and expansion of the I&R database
- Responsible for creating and updating monthly reports to various funding sources regarding the database and agency participation
- Maintains criteria for the inclusion/exclusion of agencies and programs in the I&R database
- Reviews taxonomies and update database accordingly, based on Inform USA standards
- Reviews and maintains a standardized profile, to include mandatory data elements, for each organization that is part of the local community service delivery system or other geographic area covered by the call center
- Develops and maintains end user products to include Internet accessible database as required by contract, agreement, or internal request
- Communicates on a regular basis with service area staff and volunteers and informs on new/no longer in use resources added/deleted from the database
- Have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures of the Agency
- Perform other reporting responsibilities (including statistical compilation of information) as assigned by supervisor
- Complies with all Inform USA protocols and standards

Education and Experience
- One full year of employment in I&R for applicants with a Bachelors degree
- Two years of employment in I&R for applicants with an Associates degree
- Three years of employment in I&R for applicants with a High School diploma or GED
- Four years of I&R employment covers the eligibility criteria without the need to submit academic documentation
- Successfully obtain Inform USA national certification within 12 months of employment (promotion).
- Valid Florida drivers license and insured personal transportation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Know and comply with the policies and procedures of the Agency
- Knowledge of state/national accreditation and certification standards of AIRS, AAS & CONTACT USA
- Knowledge of crisis intervention and active listening skills
- Knowledge of community resources
- Knowledge of the method of data collection and report writing
- Knowledge of Windows based computer operating system and basic software programs
- Knowledge of I&R database and national classification standards
- Ability to demonstrated commitment to customer service

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Physical Requirement: The position requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, and hand and finger dexterity, including ability to visual acuity to use a keyboard. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Work is performed indoors.
Working Conditions: Duties are performed primarily in an office setting. On occasion will require the use of personal automobile to travel to meetings and could be exposed to changing weather. The noise level is quiet.
Travel: Minimal
Hours: M-F regular business hours. 2-1-1 is open 365 days a year 24-hours a day. Employee may be required to work some holidays, evenings, and/or weekends. Exempt employees are required to work during hurricanes and times of disasters.
