What are the responsibilities and job description for the Year Long Resident 2024-2025 position at The Crossing Church?
Our church... is a non-denominational multi-site church with four St. Louis-area campuses where we gather each weekend to study this ancient story found in Scripture that is still transforming lives today. We believe church should be a place where believers in Jesus and skeptics can stand side-by-side to study truth and ask tough questions. We blend teaching and worship with art and technology to create a service where you can experience the message of Jesus in practical and life-changing ways.
Year-Long Resident...is for an individual that is seeking a path of further development in their ministry careers. Throughout the program a resident will develop leadership capacity, skills, talents, emotional health, and spiritual maturity. The resident will also be connected with seasoned mentors to grow further personally and professionally. We are hiring for multiple positions with this title from September 2024-August 2025. This role will be eligible for the The Crossing's amazing benefit package. The chosen candidates will be located at Chesterfield but will rotate between our four campuses.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Grow in pastoral skills and experience
- Increase ability to lead and influence others
- Develop skills and gain holistic ministry experience
- Collaborate with ministry teams
- Attend and contribute to ministry team meetings
- Read and discuss assigned reading
- Mature in personal spiritual growth
- Further develop application of biblical principles
- Take on additional leadership responsibilities as assigned
WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree (minimum)
- Applicable experience in your ministry track of choice
- Relevant volunteer/serving experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to relocate to St. Louis for the duration of the residency
- Mac/PC operation at intermediate level, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Passion for Christ
- Compassion for others
- Flexible and coachable
- Ability to keep information confidential
- Self-starter
- Consistent follow-through
MUST HAVES FOR ALL STAFF AT THE CROSSING
- Attend a service at one of The Crossing campuses on a weekly basis
- Passionate about their relationship with God
- Baptized after making the thoughtful decision to follow Christ
- Regard the Bible as God’s final authority in all areas of Christian life and desire to be wholly obedient to it
- Wholeheartedly affirm The Crossing’s Statement of Faith, including our view on Baptism
- Live a lifestyle consistent with scriptural principles
