The Billing Specialist will collaborate closely with the Billing Manager to oversee the entire billing process, encompassing insurance verifications, billing, patient collections, cash posting, and patient services at The Crossroads Center.

Key Responsibilities :
Research and resolve patient issues, respond to inquiries regarding patient accounts, and assist with weekly patient statements.
Conduct thorough insurance verifications for scheduled patients to ensure accurate claim submissions.
Communicate with patients regarding financial responsibilities prior to appointments.
Collaborate with leadership to address billing issues and optimize claim submissions.
Meet or exceed daily production goals set by the Billing Manager.
Compile and submit claims to insurance companies using EMR data.
Review and validate claims before submission, ensuring accuracy.
Employ efficient billing techniques to resolve billing edits promptly.
Manage disputed balances and process credit card transactions.
Post payments and adjustments accurately, reconciling deposit totals.
Close assigned batches promptly and accurately.
Collaborate with management to enhance billing processes.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing.
Proficiency with all payer types (commercial, governmental, Medicare, Medicaid, HMO).
Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and NCCI coding preferred.
Skills :
Strong understanding of co-pay, coinsurance, deductibles, and electronic claim submission.
Experience in third-party payer insurance verification, collections, and denial resolution.
Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements :
Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
Frequently required to walk, balance, stoop, kneel, and / or crouch.
Occasional lifting and / or moving up to 15 pounds.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Keyboard data entry required.
