POSITION OVERVIEW

The Lead Behavioral Health supports clients in their daily living activities while also welcoming and orienting new residents, accompanying them to appointments, and ensuring proper documentation of important information. Responsibilities also include managing resources, training staff, addressing issues, and collaborating within client and treatment team.

Shift : 7 : 30 am to 8 : 00 pm or 7 : 30 pm to 8 : 00 pm

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welcome new residents onto their assigned unit, providing unit orientation, reviewing resident handbook, smoke / phone schedule and ensuring that resident questions are answered in a compassionate, thorough manner. (Resident belonging inventory and check will be performed by BHT’s)
  • Enter memo into resident Carelogic chart addressing relayed information to BHT staff to ensure all shifts / BHT’s are aware.
  • Ensure each unit has adequate linens available.
  • Train and shadow new BHT staff.
  • Monitor resident’s self – administering medication.
  • Complete weekend vitals and SOWS with withdraw management residents by 8 : 00 am.
  • First contact to address client / BHT problems on the unit.
  • Complete work timely and accurately.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrates effective and respectful communication with peers, residents, and managers.
  • Contributes to unit performance activities.
  • If additional assistance is needed for Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT), Residential Unit Coordinator will aid.
  • Maintain admission / discharge data in Carelogic.
  • Perform rounds to ensure residents are where they are supposed to be, during programming hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write end-of-shift reports, incidents reports, life-skills reports and any other documentation that may be developed.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage interruptions quickly and appropriately.
  • Ability to navigate the unit computer, check emails, document reports into Carelogic, clock in and out for meals, perform daily scanning and complete.
  • Complete assigned on-line learning and trainings by due dates.
  • Ability to communicate accurate information to the manager and other staff.

  • Demonstrate reliable attendance.
  • Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Availibity to work weekends and holidays.
  • Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk, balance, stoop, kneel, and / or crouch. (The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 15 pounds).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Keyboard data entry required.
