The Medical Director at The Crossroads Center provides strategic physician leadership in planning, developing, and overseeing daily clinical operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role ensures the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to our patients. Key responsibilities include supervising medication administration programs and overseeing our Opioid Treatment Program, High-Intensity Residential Treatment Program, and Medically Managed Outpatient Treatment Program.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Operations Matrix
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical (85%):
- Provide clinical supervision to our healthcare team, including Certified Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Psychologists, and other clinical providers.
- Be available for staff consultation during Opioid Treatment Program hours (Monday to Friday 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am to 11:00 am).
- Onsite presence required two days a week for a minimum of 12 hours.
- Approve policies and procedures for OTP and WM.
- Provide 24/7 availability for team/program needs.
- Sign off on treatment protocols and eligibility for take-home medications.
- Participate in monthly peer reviews and integrate findings into performance improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with Certified Nurse Practitioners on Office Based Opioid Treatment.
- Assist in developing, approving, and reviewing protocols for various treatment programs and conditions.
Non-Clinical (15%):
- Ensure services align with The Crossroads Center’s mission and medical best practices.
- Collaborate with the Executive Team on daily management, operations, and strategic planning.
- Attend Executive Team Meetings.
- Directly supervise the Program Director and Lead Certified Nurse Practitioner of MAP.
- Promptly report compliance concerns to the Compliance Officer.
Required Skills and Knowledge:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctorate Degree in a related field of practice.
- MD or DO with active medical licensure in Ohio.
- 5 years of experience in Addiction Medicine.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations for dispensing methadone or other opioid agonist treatment medications.
Physical Requirements:This role involves driving, paperwork handling, computer operation, and effective communication with patients, staff, and the public. Work is primarily indoors with occasional travel and exposure to clinical environments. Must be capable of standing, walking, bending, and handling clinical duties as required.
