* Having the ability to perform light construction and property cleaning and maintanence tasks a huge plus!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Wash dishes, cookware, utensils, and cutlery fast to keep them in rotation.
* Keep all items organized and put away in the appropriate area.
* Keep all kitchen work surfaces (countertops, sinks, stoves, walls) clean and sanitized.
* Ensure that all refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas are clean and well organized.
* Sweep and mop floors at the beginning and end of each shift.
* Be prepared to clean up spills to avoid hindering operations.
* Ensure that food mixers, equipment, and cooker stations are clean and in good working order.
* Receiving and putting away food and supplies and keeping storage areas clean and organized.
* Take out the garbage. replacing can liners. Clean garbage cans as required.
* Help with routine food prep tasks (such as peeling and chopping vegetables), when needed.
* Clean and maintain cleanliness of the area outside of the kitchen and walkway.
* Monthly deep cleaning of the kitchen, including floors, walls, appliances, etc.
* Fill in for absent staff, as needed.
* Assist with special events, as needed.
* Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
SKILLS, EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
The Kitchen Porter must demonstrate proficiency in the way a commercial kitchen runs. They must be efficient in their duties, be willing to learn, take guidance and feedback, and maintain a high standard in cleanliness and organization.
Specific requirements include:
- At least 18 years of age
- No experience required, but one year of experience working as a dishwasher a plus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Positive interpersonal skills and willingness to work as a team player a must.
