Location: Columbia South Carolina(3X/week Onsite)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Billing Coordinator to join our team, specializing in group insurance premium billing. The ideal candidate will have experience in the group benefits insurance industry, strong analytical abilities, and excellent attention to detail. This role involves managing premium invoices, reconciling payments, and providing exceptional customer service to policyholders and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage group insurance premium invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely billing.
- Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve billing issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and customer service teams to support seamless billing operations.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding billing, payments, and policy adjustments.
- Maintain accurate financial records, reports, and documentation in compliance with industry standards.
- Assist in audits and regulatory reporting related to premium billing.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance billing efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in the group benefits insurance industry (preferred).
- Experience handling group insurance premium billing processes.
Education:
- Associate degree or 4-year college degree strongly preferred.
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in place of formal education.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in billing systems, Microsoft Excel, and financial software.
- Strong understanding of insurance billing practices and reconciliation
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.
