Job Position: Quality Inspector
Location: Crystal Lake, IL 60014
Pay Rate: $17.00/hr – $19/hr BOE
Shift: D shift, Sun-Tue & E/O Wed, 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
Description:
We are immediately hiring in Crystal Lake, IL for a quality inspector to perform routine quality verification and testing for materials, goods in-process, and finished goods from start-up or 1st pass through 2nd and3rd pass or final pass as well as incoming inspection testing of raw materials. As a quality inspector, you’ll work the overnight shift from6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday.
Quality Inspector Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and tests on materials, goods in–process and finished goods for conformance and specifications.
- Perform Gemba Walk in production verifying packaging, labeling and good document practices, communicating any issues that arise to be corrected.
- Notify Machine Operator, Set-Up Technician or Supervisor when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when quality defects are noted.
- Accurately and legibly record results on inspection forms, samples and charts.
- Maintain records of inspection data, quality levels, and special quality studies.
- Ensure product conformance, administer labels and verify accuracy of information as required for new jobs.
- Reject product, material, and equipment not meeting specifications.
- Periodic report generation, basic data entry, and email communications.
- Train new employees assigned to the department as needed.
- Additional duties as requested/assigned.
Quality Inspector Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of one year of previous Machine Operator experience doing visual inspections of products on the line and easily passed our ruler test
- HS diploma or GED
- Knowledge of quality assurance, familiarity with manufacturing environments, knowledge of equipment and processes
- Ability to read and understand product specifications
- Ability to accurately measure and interpret measurements to a 1/16th of an inch using a standard ruler.
- Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to understand and communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to follow written instruction in english and prepare simple production reports
- Ability to move up to 40 pounds without help
