Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Material Planner to join our dynamic team. The Material Planner will play a crucial role in ensuring that all materials and supplies are procured and managed efficiently to meet production demands. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of supply chain management principles. The ideal candidate will be adept at demand planning, supplier management, and logistics to optimize inventory levels while minimizing costs.
Duties
- Release purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on time delivery and support the production schedule
- Communicate and actively manage production plans with suppliers and internal parties to avoid service disruption
- Support the master data setup for materials planning and perform routine data hygiene check to ensure date integrity
- Evaluate material requirements based on MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and requisition materials accordingly
- Provide insights on material inventory levels and consumption trends to cross functional teams
- Manage the on-time delivery of raw and packaging materials. Identify and communicate risks to production plan and impact on various functions in the process
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production requirements while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory. Conduct periodic inventory counts
- Work cross functionally with Demand Planning, Sourcing, Suppliers, Production and Warehouse, R&D, Logistics Material
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to improve costs and efficiencies throughout manufacturing and planning process
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business management or related fields
- Three to five years of related experience in material planning
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and concepts
- Ability to build and improve trusting relationships
- Attention to detail with strong analytical and communication skills
- Interpersonal and problem-solving skills to gather information from different departments to recommend ways of improving the supply chain
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work with all employees in a professional and courteous manner through good interpersonal skills with a focus on problem solving, conflict resolution, active listening.
- Willing to work in a team environment interacting with peers in all functional areas at various levels contributing to team/group goals.
- Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of company financial information
- Ability to adhere to specific timelines and deadlines including the ability to multi-task in a changing environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
