Description

The hiring rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.

Position Summary

The Admissions Specialist is responsible for providing operations support for the Admissions department. This includes data input and processing, phone and email-based customer support, admissions event support, and front desk customer relations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform all data entry tasks from prospective student inquiry to applicant stage including but not limited to, event registration, inquiries, applications, supporting documents, and records maintenance.
  • Responsible for the timely processing of all applications and supporting documentation, as well as effectively communicating specific needs of prospective students to admissions counselors and enrollment managers.
  • Provide sales support to Admissions Counselors and yield teams as needed, including, but not limited to, working admissions events, conducting outreach, and advising students and families on phone, email, social media, and in-person.
  • Confidently interacts with prospective students, families, and educators, communicating key CIA selling messages.
  • Responsible for answering the Admissions Inquiry/Application phone line and providing unsurpassed customer service for all three (3) CIA campus locations by assisting prospective students, parents and educators with various admissions-based questions, concerns, and issues from the inquiry to applicant stage.
  • Run reports to ensure accuracy and operational integrity.
  • Provide reception desk coverage to include but not limited to: welcoming and coordinating guest-traffic, students and staff, answering the main Admissions phone line, maintaining the appearance of the reception lobby, maintaining copies of printed materials.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

Education

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates Degree or significant work experience in lieu of.

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years experience working in higher education student services or in a related, professional customer service role, or in a high-volume data entry role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Previous experience in Higher Education, Admissions, or Financial Aid departments.

  • Self-starter who can work independently and as a team.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to be adaptable, dependable and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills required. Must have demonstrated ability in organizational, time management, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct presentations with professionalism and confidence.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to greet all guests of the CIA in a hospitable manner.
  • Ability to collaborate with other department members, and work effectively with various aspects of the college community.
  • Detail oriented and thorough.
  • Strong computer experience, which must include abilities to work effectively with the internet, data entry and MS Office suite products, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to reinforce our commitment to the customer.
  • Must display a high level of energy and self-motivation.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work overtime, extended work hours, and / or later shift coverage to support business needs.
  • Regular work requires a great deal of sitting and standing for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds of admissions recruitment material.
