POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing Manager, California campuses will be responsible for developing and executing the marketing and communications plan for the Culinary Institute of America's (CIA's) commercial businesses in California, primarily for the CIA at Copia. The Marketing Manager is responsible for project management of the promotional calendar, public relations (PR), social media, paid media and partnerships, in order to increase awareness for the CIA at Copia locally, regionally, and nationally. The manager is responsible for promoting all of Copia's offerings including the Grove restaurant, Public Events, Food Enthusiast classes and Boot Camps, Special Events (weddings / meetings), and other Copia outlets. This role will also support limited marketing needs for Greystone's Special Events, and Restaurants / Bakery / Marketplace.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Copia and Marketing leadership to develop marketing and communications plans for Copia - including marketing calendar, messaging priorities, and media plans.
- Manage PR agency relationships to drive buzz, connect with local, regional and national press and to explore partnership potential with lifestyle brands / sponsors.
- Build relationships with visitor bureaus and Chambers of Commerce, local directories, and hotel concierges / hospitality organizations to promote Copia.
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders at Copia across all the departments : special events sales, food enthusiasts team, restaurants, retail. Work with the Senior Director of Food & Beverage Operations to develop a detailed marketing calendar with promotions and communications focus across all Copia businesses.
- Work with Newsletter team to plan weekly editorial calendar and secure copy and photo assets for promotions.
- Work with Sales lead to define needs for weddings and meetings promotions for both California campus properties; Copia and Greystone.
- Develop clear, succinct creative briefs for Creative Services and Web team to create collateral materials (posters, print and digital ads, social posts, website pages, etc.) to support all of Copia's businesses.
- Develop and execute organic social media strategy with Social Media Community and Content Manager.
- Work with Digital team on paid media, including Search Engine Marketing; Partners such as TheKnot / Weddingwire.com and OpenTable. Analyze performance and optimize results.
- Activate brand partnerships experiences and events.
- Develop communications to support the end-to-end guest experience for all visitors of Copia, including wayfinding signage, upsell and cross-sell of offerings onsite to different audiences, such as visitors, conference attendees, restaurant patrons, food enthusiast students, etc.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
