The Cutting Edge, a leading landscaping and land clearing company, is seeking a skilled and passionate Certified Arborist to join our team. This role is critical to delivering expert tree care, maintenance, and removal services to our residential and commercial clients. The ideal candidate will hold a valid arborist certification, possess hands-on experience in tree health assessment and management, and demonstrate a commitment to safety and environmental stewardship. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform tree health assessments, diagnosing diseases, pest infestations, and structural issues.
- Execute tree pruning, trimming, and removal using industry-standard techniques and equipment, ensuring safety and precision.
- Provide recommendations to clients on tree care, planting, and maintenance to enhance landscape aesthetics and sustainability.
- Operate and maintain arborist tools and machinery, such as chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and rigging systems.
- Conduct land clearing projects, including selective tree removal, while adhering to environmental regulations and client specifications.
- Collaborate with landscaping crews to integrate tree care into broader project plans.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, company policies, and local regulations during all tree-related operations.
- Document work performed, including before-and-after photos, client consultations, and service reports.
- Educate clients and team members on proper tree care practices and the ecological benefits of arboriculture.
- Assist in emergency tree services, such as storm damage response and hazard tree removal.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as an Arborist (e.g., ISA Certified Arborist or equivalent) required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in arboriculture, tree care, or a related field.
- Proficiency in tree climbing, rigging, and the safe use of arborist equipment.
- Strong knowledge of tree species, biology, and common diseases/pests affecting trees in the region.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and project specifications.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.
- Strong communication skills for client interactions and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with aerial lift operation and advanced rigging techniques.
- ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) or similar credential.
- Background in landscaping or land clearing projects.
