The Cypress at Midtown is looking for a caring and qualified Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse LPN individuals to join our Day shift and Night shift team. Our Day shift is 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and our Night shift is 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The ideal Nurse will be energetic and passionate about delivering high quality, person centered care to individuals in need of skilled nursing and long-term care. Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse LPN Charge Nurse Primary Function:
The Charge Nurses will work 12 hour shifts and works under the direction of the Director of nursing or designee and in compliance with state statutes and regulations governing the practice of nursing.
The Charge Nurse provides supervision and monitoring of medication aides and nursing assistants.
Assesses, plans, coordinates and provides nursing care to skilled nursing and long-term care residents. Administers medications and treatments and provides direction and monitoring of medication aides and nursing assistants. Provides resident teaching and works closely with the interdisciplinary team and medical staff.
Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse LPN Charge Nurse Qualifications:
Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse with a current LPN license from the State of Nebraska, a Registered Nurse with a current RN license from the State of Nebraska, or a compact state recognized by the Nebraska Board of Nursing at the time of hire and maintain the license in good standing throughout the course of employment.
The Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse LPN must be certified in basic life support/cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or complete certification within the first month of employment. Must maintain certification throughout employment.
Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment preferred.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.
Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse LPN Charge Nurse Overview of Physical Demands:
The Charge Nurse work is typically indoors in a healthcare environment. Noise level is usually moderate, but may on occasion be loud
The Charge Nurse be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds. Physical abilities include extended periods of walking/standing and the ability to kneel, crouch and bend.
The Charge Nurse must be able to deal with multiple interruptions. Work may be stressful when faced with multiple demands.
Must be able to talk and hear within normal ranges. Visual abilities must be correctable to normal ranges. Manual dexterity needed to operate equipment.
