Job Title: Utility Porter

Department: Public Area

Job Summary

It is the responsibility of the Utility Porters for cleaning and service of assigned areas according to the standards of cleanliness set by management to ensure a clean, comfortable, safe, and attractive environment for our Guests.

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and always promoting the Company Service Standards
  • Always Maintaining a clean environment
  • Responsible for the shampooing of carpet
  • Responsible for cleaning both high and low areas, which may involve the use of a ladder
  • Responsible for cleaning hazards, windows, upper and lower dusting
  • Responsible for all detail cleaning the public areas
  • Responsible for maintenance in offices, windows, carpet; restroom, general maintenance, and use of floor/carpet machines
  • Heavy Cleaning such as floor buffing, exterior or floor polishing, window washing, furniture or floor polishing and carpet shampooing
  • Floor stripping, sealing, finishing and or polishing
  • Maintain of the all the marble and prepared cleaning solutions as necessary and followed safety procedures as prescribed by OSHA
  • Requires knowledge of cleaning chemicals and mixtures
  • Requires knowledge of sensitive material such as marble, granite, and metal
  • Use the extractor, wet vacuum, steamer, cleaner and shampooer as assigned

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form
  • Ability to work safely, including understanding and following company safety policies and procedures, completing work in a safe manner, caring about safety of self and others, responding appropriately in an emergency, and reporting unsafe conditions; this also includes being aware of unsafe conditions such as spills, wet areas, debris, and addressing quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to work with cleaning products, chemicals and solvents using safety equipment provided by the company
  • Must be able to perform assigned duties both indoors and outdoors
  • Must understand cleaning and disposing of biohazards
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

  • At least 6 months of related experience preferred

Physical, Mental And Work Environment

  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
  • Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds, to be able to perform inspector and utility duties as needed
  • Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment including, but not limited to, a vacuum, cleaning supplies and safety equipment
  • Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, dusty, noisy, indoor, outdoor, and may contain secondhand smoke
  • Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. These tasks include the maintenance and care of assigned
  • Tasks performed from a sitting or non-sitting position
