The Daily Beast is looking to hire a Finance Director to join our team. This person will report directly to the SVP of Finance and will be responsible for supporting all departments under The Daily Beast umbrella. This role offers great growth potential to move into a more senior role within the finance team.
This person will oversee general accounting operations and assist with driving the Company's financial strategy and planning forward. The ideal candidate has experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing a small team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee month-end, quarter end and year end closing, and reconciliation processes
- Prepare month-end journal entries which include but not limited to the areas of transactions, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, and accrued expenses
- Support the Finance team with all accounting functions and various financial projects as required
- Assist in performing Revenue / Expense analysis for monthly closes
- Manage Freelancer AP Cycle - receive all incoming invoices, match invoices to agreements / contracts, route for approvals, enter AP ERP systems (Concur & Oracle), prepare weekly accounts payable listing, identify vendors for payment, ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices and freelancer invoices
- Contribute to identifying and implementing various policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Prepare quarterly sales commission calculations
- Prepare monthly P&L reporting to IAC
- Support operations with any ad-hoc analysis requests and special projects

Compensation
The starting base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $160,000 annually.
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, performance and other factors. The range listed is just one component of the Daily Beast's total compensation package. The Daily Beast provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
