About the Role
We are looking for an experienced journalist to join our team to spearhead the editorial vision and ongoing execution of Advisor Upside and help launch a new vertical focused on ETFs. The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B publishing and familiarity with the financial advisor ecosystem.
You will be responsible for creating compelling coverage of the financial advisor industry, including client-management best practices, investment trends, and unique and important industry news. Our value proposition will be unveiling interesting and important narratives instead of the rote commodity news that typically defines B2B publishing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to write with clarity, technical accuracy, and creativity.
Responsibilities:
- Create daily content focused on the wealth management industry. Work closely with leadership to refine the editorial vision for the product to differentiate us from existing editorial products.
- Build and maintain a robust network of industry sources to create high-impact, enterprise journalism.
- Own the ideation and execution of the 3x per week newsletter with high-quality editorial spanning industry news, practice management insights, and investing commentary.
- Work with our growth team to implement SEO strategies to drive traffic and reader engagement.
- Conduct interviews with industry thought leaders.
- Participate in industry conferences and podcasts and elevate the awareness of our editorial in the wealth management ecosystem.
Requirements:
- 5-plus years of professional experience preferably in wealth management, financial advisory, and RIA publications with clear understanding of the ETF marketplace.
- Well versed in a wide range of financial products, like ETFs and mutual funds, and accustomed to describing financial markets, products, and economic activity in clear, direct language.
- Strong reporting skills and comfort working in a fast-paced news environment and on deadline.
- High attention to detail, strong writing skills, excellent time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to tell data-driven stories.
- Experience applying brand voice and tone across assets while distilling technical information in a concise and effective manner.
- Proficiency in project management tools, communication platforms, and creative production suites.
Preferred Skills
- Demonstrable experience or interest in creating videos, webinars and podcasts is a major plus.
