Salary Range: $78,000 - $173,000. The position on the scale will be based on years of teaching experience and education.

The Dalton Science Department seeks a full-time science teacher, beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. Science at Dalton is taught in an inquiry-based approach, with an emphasis on developing scientific habits of mind. Our ideal candidate is passionate about working with adolescents, collaborates effectively on multiple teams, communicates clearly, and is organized and attentive to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Teach multiple sections of ninth grade high school biology and potentially multiple sections of upper-level biology electives at both the advanced and standard levels
- Collaborate regularly with biology team in developing curriculum and lesson plans
- Provide regular support and enrichment for students through individual meetings
- Advise a group of multi-grade students
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred
- Relevant teaching experience required; high school teaching experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work well with a team
- Familiarity with data science, scientific literacy, and scientific communication is highly desired
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Aptitude for educational technologies and learning management software
