Salary Range: $78,000 - $170,000. The position on the scale will be based on years of teaching experience and education.

For the 2025-26 school year, Dalton seeks a full-time middle school engineering teacher who will collaborate with other middle school engineering teachers on a two-year 7th and 8th grade course sequence.
Our program focuses on inspiring young people to explore exciting programming projects they care about. Dalton encourages its computer science and engineering teachers to integrate computational thinking in collaboration with other fields of study. This role will be expansive — there are regular opportunities for leadership both inside the department and throughout the school-wide community activities.
Responsibilities:
- Co-teach multiple sections of 7th and 8th grade engineering
- Collaborate on curriculum development for programming assignments within the 8th grade course
- Facilitate and support 7th and 8th graders with the final Spring Capstone Assignment
- Co-coach afterschool Middle School Robotics (FIRST Lego League and Robocup Junior - Soccer) 4 days a week
- Design exciting programs and opportunities that help expand the engineering program in the middle school
- Collaborate regularly with colleagues both within and outside the department
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Computer Science, Engineering, Design, Education or a related field preferred
- Experience with Arduino or a similar micro-processor is preferred
- Experience working with and supporting students of various ages/grades; middle school experience prioritized
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong commitment to collaborate in support of students and the curriculum
- Open-mindedness, flexibility, and thoughtfulness about giving and receiving feedback
- Eagerness to rethink and iterate on pedagogy and to develop new curricula in collaboration with colleagues
