Leading plastics manufacturing company is currently seeking for a Tooling Manager. This is a direct hire opportunity in Gardner, MA.
Responsibilities of the Tooling Manager:
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs of all tooling (molds) based on the electronic preventative maintenance system.
- Coordinate with external vendors for tool repairs, maintenance, and the creation of new tooling.
- Supervise Mold Technicians, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Work with Sales and Customers to assist in the development of new products and projects.
- Identify tooling needs and initiate purchase requests for new tooling.
- Test newly created molds and suggest necessary modifications or updates.
- Create work orders for mold repairs or modifications.
- Collaborate with the Quality, Maintenance, and Shift Supervisors to address mold-related manufacturing issues.
- Participate in the evaluation and review of mold designs.
- Provide training and guidance to Mold Technician staff.
- Ensure the accurate maintenance of records, data, and reporting documentation.
- Assist with special projects as directed by senior leadership.
- At least 10 years of experience in Mold Making or Tooling.
- Minimum of 5 years working with CAD software.
- Basic proficiency with computers (Word, Outlook) and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Willingness to travel when necessary.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
