JOB TITLE: Science Teacher Position
START DATE: 08/04/25
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Preferred teaching experience or valid teacher’s certificate.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Director

JOB SUMMARY: To provide an educational environment designed to help students succeed academically in accordance with system philosophy, goals and objectives. To implement an effective educational program for the designated grade level and subject area(s) using the designated course of study, appropriate materials and resources, and best instructional practices. To serve as a student advocate, role model, and professional resource for parents, the community, and the school system.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create a classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth
- Establish effective rapport with students
- Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good educational foundation
- Utilize technology to motivate students and prepare students for 21st century
- Participate in school-related activities that enhance teacher, student, parent, and community relations
- Analyze different data sources in making data-driven decisions for instruction
- Establish a positive relationship with students, parents, co-workers, volunteers, and other visitors
- Read and stay abreast of current topics in science.
- Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
- Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
- Develop incentives to keep participants in class.
- Develop professional relationships with other agencies and programs.
- Tutor students on an individual basis.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Prepare and distribute required reports.
- Observe and evaluate student's performance.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters in accordance with state and federal law.
- Adhere to board polices, administrative procedures, and other like directive.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 months
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with
provisions of the Board's policy.
SALARY RANGE: Based on Board adopted pay scale and experience.
