Job Responsibilities
- Provide Inpatient Care: Offer comprehensive medical services to patients, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with Physicians: Work closely with hospitalists to coordinate patient care, discuss complex cases, and develop effective treatment strategies.
- Manage Patient Flow: Efficiently manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers to maintain optimal hospital throughput.
- Participate in Multidisciplinary Teams: Contribute to daily rounds, interdisciplinary conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and hospital operations.
Requirements
- Certified as a Nurse Practitioner (NP): Possess current certification from a recognized professional organization, such as AANP or ANCC.
- Experience in Hospital Medicine: Hold a minimum of 1 year of experience working as a nurse practitioner in a hospital setting, preferably in a similar role.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHRs): Proficient in using EHR systems, such as EPIC, to document patient information and communicate with healthcare teams.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
