New England Finance Director

The New England Finance Director oversees the major donor fundraising efforts in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The Finance Director creates and implements a region-specific finance plan and supports the execution of principal and surrogate travel and fundraising events. The Finance Director is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and maintaining relationships with the top donors in their region.

The New England Finance Director is based in Washington, DC and reports to the National Finance Director at the Democratic National Committee. 

• Plan, schedule, and execute fundraising travel in their region including donor meetings and finance events.
• Develop a comprehensive cycle finance plan that aims to exceed regional goals.
• Practices excellent donor stewardship of donor portfolio.
• Regularly performs research to identify prospective supporters.
• Oversees day-to-day activities and operations of the New England team.
• Set and execute a calendar of regular programming, including calls, events, meetings, and political activities.
• Write and disseminate regular communications to National Finance Committee members and potential donors. 
• Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's mission.

• Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5-7 years of political fundraising experience.
• Strong and engaging interpersonal skills.
• Management experience desired but not required.
• Detail oriented and proficient in Excel and Google Suite.
• Working knowledge of NGP database.
• Experience working on campaign or political committee fundraising teams for 2-3 cycles preferred.
• Experience managing events and staffing principals.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Some travel required.

• Experience working in the political fundraising area, with emphasis on New England regional fundraising is preferred.
• Experience collaborating with teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

The starting salary for the The New England Finance Director position is $120,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends, and has an end date of  November 13, 2026.  

Travel:

The New England Finance Director position will require travel, which could be up to 1-15% of the time.

Due to federal campaign finance rules, only U.S. citizens or U.S. green card holders are eligible for this role. See 52 U.S.C. 30121; 11 C.F.R. 110.20(i). This means that they are doing campaign and finance work, they cannot be a foreign national/visa holder, only U.S. citizens and Green card holders.
