Position Summary:
The DNC is hiring a Senior Counsel for Litigation and Voting Rights to manage the DNC’s litigation portfolio. This position reports to the DNC’s General Counsel and will work closely with the Voter Protection Director.
- Manage the DNC’s offensive and defensive litigation;
- Advise DNC leadership on litigation opportunities and strategy;
- Serve as the day-to-day point of contact to our outside counsel; review and edit pleadings; and answer strategic questions on behalf of the organization;
- Ensure that stakeholders and departments are tracking litigation updates that are relevant to their work;
- Manage portions of our legal admin processes, including case budgeting, engagement letters; litigation holds; legal bill review, and insurance recovery; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Ability to quickly adjust to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school;
- Admitted to practice and in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar;
- At least seven years of civil litigation experience, in government, a nonprofit, a law firm, or an in-house legal department;
- At least five years of public interest litigation experience and/or two years of voting rights litigation experience preferred; and
- A strong interest in and knowledge of Democratic politics and principles preferred.
