Senior Functional Analyst
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Functional Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business or system processes and requirements for applications. This role requires close collaboration with project teams and business stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Analysis & Documentation:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze and model business processes using various techniques.
- Elicit, document, and manage requirements using user stories, use cases, and diagrams.
- Demonstrate expertise in requirements gathering techniques (e.g., interviews, workshops, surveys).
- Align business requirements with system capabilities, ensuring proper adaptation to packaged solutions.
Quality Assurance:
- Produce high-quality deliverables with minimal rework and ensure alignment with standards.
- Review team artifacts and provide feedback to maintain quality.
- Proactively identify and address gaps or issues impacting project timelines.
- Support testing activities and coordinate defect resolution efforts.
Continuous Improvement:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of application features, functionality, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with vendors to implement solutions that meet current and future needs.
- Identify and recommend new features to enhance existing systems.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on Personal and Commercial Insurance products.
- 7 years of experience in software delivery across various methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
- 3-5 years of experience with Guidewire, Duckcreek, Sapiens, Majesco, Insurity, or other Insurance Software Platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Proven expertise in requirements gathering, process modeling, and diagramming.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Bonus Points:
- Certifications in any of the following: Agile, SAFE, ANIS, or POPM
- Certifications in Business Analysis, or Property & Casualty Insurance
