POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Lead Host role is pivotal to creating an exceptional guest experience by managing the front-of-house team and ensuring smooth, efficient operations. OpenTable and prior Host experience in a restaurant is a requirement. You will serve as the primary point of contact for guests upon arrival, oversee seating arrangements via OpenTable, and act as a mentor and supervisor for fellow hosts. This role requires a leader with proven supervisory experience, a deep understanding of restaurant hosting, and a commitment to excellent service.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Guest Experience & Front-of-House Supervision:
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the guest arrival and seating process.
- Lead and mentor the host team to maintain high standards of service.
- Monitor and adjust seating arrangements during peak times to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Operational Responsibilities:
- Manage reservations and walk-in seating using OpenTable; prior experience with OpenTable is required.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement front-of-house policies and procedures.
- Ensure the dining area is welcoming, organized, and operates efficiently.
- Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Host in a restaurant environment.
- Proven supervisory or leadership experience in a high-volume setting.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with guests and team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Additional Duties:
- Assist with staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations as needed.
- Resolve guest complaints promptly and professionally.
- Uphold a professional demeanor and maintain a polished personal appearance at all times.
- Support management in executing daily operational tasks and special projects.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to interact effectively with guests, staff, and management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to stand and move continuously for long periods during shifts.
- Ability to manage repetitive motions and maintain composure during high-volume periods.
