MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST POSITION
THE DERMATOLOGY CLINIC, PLLC
The Dermatology Clinic, PLLC is the only full-service dermatology practice on the Gulf Coast under the direction of board-certified Dermatologists. Dr. Wingfield, Dr. Ortego, and their team of physician assistants treat the full range of hair, skin, and nail disorders. In addition, we perform advanced techniques in skin resurfacing for scars and wrinkles, as well as botulinum treatment of wrinkles and all types of wrinkle fillers.
We are looking for an energetic receptionist to join our team! Voted Best Places to Work on the MS Gulf Coast, The Dermatology Clinic, PLLC is a busy office with the goal of providing exceptional care and an excellent patient experience. This is a full-time position, 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday in our Pass Christian clinic. Applicants must be passionate about customer service and be focused, team-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position has a heavy focus on scheduling and answering phones.
Position Summary: The Medical Receptionist is an essential part of the dermatology care team, as they set the tone for the customer experience. The receptionist is responsible for answering calls, scheduling, coordinating patient appointments and transactions, and all front office clerical tasks as directed by the Practice Administrator. The receptionist must demonstrate competencies consistent with the knowledge, skills, and scope of practice described within this job description.
Education: High School Diploma required. Medical office, spa receptionist, and/or customer service experience is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The Medical Receptionist role includes, but is not limited to:
- Answering phones, completing caller requests, or directing caller to the correct team member.
- Checking patients in upon appointment arrival, confirming appropriate paperwork
- Scheduling patient appointments for dermatology and spa providers
- Checking patients out upon appointment completion, coordinating any necessary transactions for medical, cosmetic, or product purchases
- Coordinating incoming faxes and referrals
- Detailed and accurate documentation within the practice management and EMR system
- Screening and processing requests for information and services through telephone, voice messages, and patient reminder system
- Demonstrates effective collaboration with staff, including providers, clinical support, billing, and management personnel.
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills, is well-organized, and possesses the energy and focus to keep up in a busy dermatology office setting
- Demonstrates time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality
